1. Our Policy Overview

Our goal is to ensure you are happy with our service. We offer a 5-day, no-obligation free trial that provides full access to our service's features. We encourage you to use this trial to determine if Hikari is the right fit for your needs before purchasing a subscription.

Because we provide this comprehensive trial period, we operate a limited refund policy for our annual subscriptions. By purchasing your subscription and accessing the service, you are agreeing to these terms.

2. Annual Subscriptions

Our service is sold as an annual subscription, paid in full upfront. When you purchase a 12-month subscription, you are committing to a full year of service. As a general rule, we do not offer refunds on subscriptions once the payment has been processed after the free trial period ends.

3. Statutory Cooling-Off Period

For consumers (i.e. non-business customers) based in the UK or EU, you have a 14-day right to change your mind and cancel certain purchases.

Please note that this right does not apply to B2B contracts and therefore does not apply to you if you are a business customer (e.g. if you have subscribed to our service on behalf of a company or other legal entity).

If you are a consumer and wish to exercise your right to cancel in the 14-day cancellation period, you must inform us of your decision to cancel your subscription by making a clear statement to us of such decision before the cancellation period has expired.

The easiest way to do this is by contacting us at support@black-star.ai. If you cancel your subscription in this way, we will reimburse you all payments received from you for the cancelled subscription using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction.

Please note that for digital services like ours, if you decide to use our service during the 14-day cancellation period, you may do so, but you acknowledge that your right to cancel your subscription will be lost and you will not be entitled to any refund if you subsequently decide to cancel.

4. Exception for Technical Failure

An exception to our no-refund policy may be made in the event of a significant, persistent technical failure of the service's core functionality that prevents you from using it as intended.

A refund will only be considered if:

  • (a) The technical failure is reported to our support team at support@black-star.ai with detailed information and evidence.
  • (b) We are unable to resolve the failure within a reasonable timeframe (typically 14 business days from the date of your report).

Any refund issued under this clause will be at our sole and absolute discretion.

5. No Pro-Rata Refunds for Early Cancellation

If you choose to cancel your subscription before the end of your 12-month term, you will retain access to the service until the end of your paid subscription period. You will not be eligible for a partial or pro-rated refund for the unused portion of your subscription.
